Porcelain Veneers

PORCELAIN VENEERS

Veneers are thin porcelain sheets, similar in a way to a contact lens, luted to the tooth providing a lasting and customized look, while being minimally invasive. This treatment consists in replacing the outer part of the tooth with porcelain, which has highly esthetic properties that are similar to natural enamel.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a cosmetic dental treatment that is highly durable and that will give you the best possible esthetics. This treatment can be performed on almost any patient with teeth in good condition. This treatment can correct cosmetic problems due to poor positioning of the anterior teeth without using braces and allows good results in a relatively short period. Porcelain Veneers are a beautiful option for someone wanting to improve their smile in a conservative way.
Porcelain veneers have a natural appearance and offer the strength, beauty and durability that can only be found in porcelain restorations. Contrarily to bonded composites (white fillings), they will not discolour or wear. The veneers used at the Centre prosthodontique Mont-Royal are made from high quality porcelain and are custom made for you.

The following conditions are easily resolved with customized porcelain veneers :
•Broken or chipped teeth
•Unaesthetic, stained or washed-out fillings
•Misshapen or crooked teeth
•Dark, yellow, stained or discoloured teeth
•Spaces between your teeth
Success of a veneer is dependent upon the amount of enamel on the front of the tooth and the habits of the patient. Veneers are not indicated if a tooth already has fillings or decay or in patients with grinding and clenching habits. Porcelain veneers are overused in dentistry. The decision to use them should be based on each patient’s situation. When used on the wrong patient, veneers can begin to fail within a month. A prosthodontist is the most qualified dentist to help you determine if veneers are right for you.
